another musket sideplate to be i.d-ed
heres a sideplate that was found at a colonial cellar site , anyone know what particular musket its from also this one has some great hand scrolled artwork on it . thanks in advanced .

It looks similar to the kind of sideplate you'd see on a French trade musket from the mid 1700's. I'll poke around a bit more later and see if I can find anything to match it.

well I looked around and still didn't find an exact match, I'm still thinking along the lines of French or European at the least. What is it made of? It looks silver in the pics which would make it from an expensive rifle.

Definitely not from a musket, way too fancy. I agree with the fowler, some of them were quite ornate.
