    crown shape thing Solved: military neck stock clasp

    anyone have any ideas on this? it was on the same property I found the british rev war button, albiet a couple hundred yards away.

    Wow, that is a curious item. In the second picture, it almost appears to have some writing of some sort. Have you considered any further cleaning or maybe electrolysis? I'm anxious to see what this is, as well......I haven't got a clue.

    Maybe a leather strap or leather belt adjuster , like you find on a gun sling.

    Military neck stock clasp like the one below of mine that came off a rev.war site yours is just a little different.

    It is half of a hinge. Most likely for a box.
