Old Machinery that met an untimely end? SOLVED--Battery Post!
Found this piece on National Forest Land. The area is completely desolate with no structures nearby. The area has a long history of mining and prospecting. Item was found about 4 inches down and display's a number 6 or 9. I believe it to be a six and the letter font is interesting. Looks old to me. Very heavy, perhaps lead or zinc? Any info would be appreciated....

Damn, you guys are good! Thanks.....The "6" had thrown me but I can't imagine it being anything else. Looks like the battery it was attached to was taken out in the middle of nowhere and used as target practice? People are crazy....
