    Civil War Cannon

I recently came across this photograph of a Civil War cannon called "The Wizard". I have never seen anything like it. Does anyone know anything about it?

Interesting. I've never seen one even close to that.

    Check this free Google ebook...

A treatise on ordnance and armor 1865

The Wizard nickname might be a play on the designers name, Wiard.

    Re: Civil War Cannon

Thank you, it certainly looks like a Wiard Gun, as you suggest, probably nicknamed the "Wizard". Apparently two were made for evaluation and in the photograph appears to be in a carriage for transportation or evaluation. Now I'm wondering if it was ever used in battle? Thanks for you reference also.
