    motor part???

    Guy I was detecting with dug this today. It's about 6" x 4", no rust, had a purplish sheen like it had been subjected to heat. Found at an old party beach on a resevoir. ?

    I have worked on alot of cars and have never seen something like that piece on an engine

    hard to tell from the pic but maybe part of a interior center console? looks like where the key button was and the curve would look right for the center hump that runs between the seats.

    Is it magnetic ? solid? hole go all the way through it. Looks like chrome plated plastic ?

    I was thinking maybe an old car part as I have found serveral at this site and it looked to be chrome or nickel plated.

    Definitely not plastic, pretty heavy. I work with the guy who found it so I'll have him bring it in so we can weigh it and check for magnetism.

    Looks to me to be a mount or spacer for something cylinder in shape to be placed on a flat surface.
