Ring found on pre-civil war farm Warrenton VA

Found on pre civil war farm land along with other relics. Still trying to figure out where the ring is from. Not your average symbols on the face and still cant figure out what the image on the side is, beautiful patina, heavy in weight. Any suggestions would be awesome!!!

The Jewelerguy ID'd it correctly in Today's Finds .. His post stated, " it's a late 1940's Lone Ranger ring that used to have a small pistol mounted on it.... here's on on ebay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1947-Lone-R....item53e8e47d85

I was going to post your pic for future reference but it has already been removed from eBay. Too bad some of us would have liked to see it.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

I don't know for sure so this is a guess. I bet that if you spin that wheel on top the little gun would spark from a flint inside it? - Only thing I could think of why that would be there. Interesting.
