I know this is a Police Brace suspender clip. From the amount of research I have done, it appears that the Police Brace suspender clips have been around for a bunch of years -
So I am trying to find out what decade this particular clip might have come from.
These are always tough to pin down in terms of date. Frequently they had a tiny patent date stamped in them, so check yours thoroughly. All I can offer is mid to late 1800s to early 1900s. The style is closer to the early 1900s styles than the "ring/hook" styles of the 1800s.

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

As stated, it's hard to put a date on these since they were made for so many years. I will say that the ones i've seen that are post WWII have similar edge marks like the ones that Big C posted. I've found NOS (new old stock)ones that date to the 1960's even, such as the photo below.
