    Spanish Silver

I found this piece in April of 2003, In Oconee County S.C. On A site where General Andrew Pickens Had built his home,It was call Red Hill, About one quarter of a mile from the center of a Cherokee Indian village called "Tomassee" This itself sitting about one mile as the crow fly from Oconee Station, this had started out as one of many forts stretching from Tellico plains all the way into the southern part of South Carolina.
The following measurements are from the Spanish coin. Diameter is 36.69mm Weight 18.8 gms. I assume that the break is from the station owner making change who knows, my question is this do you think it's really a reale? as to any other history that i can give is that pickens home burnt down around 1820 Although I'm not sure, and i feel that's how the reverse got burnt so bad. The .25 piece come from an old corn field in Westminster S.C. And the dime (sorry about the picture is an 1838 seated liberty found on a ridge above A tunnel being built during the 1850's can't tell anything about it unless you get it out in bright sunlight under a high power loop. Any info on the Spanish piece would be appreciated. HH

    Re: Spanish Silver

The first 2 pics are too out of focus to make any determination but I think I see 8R. The 3rd pic appears to show a seam left over from a casting process but maybe its from when the coin was cut.
The 4th pic is also blurry but looks like corroded/melted silver. Looks like a salt water cookie coin. Is the 4th pic the same coin?

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.
