    Re: Printing Plate ???

Printing plate...it's a woman in a corset...middle word on top row is "beauty". To me, the woman's hair looks like that of a "Gibson Girl". If it is, that would date it to late 19th - early 20th century.

Try dusting it with flour, corn starch or baby powder to see if it brings out some detail.

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

    Re: Printing Plate ???

I think it is an advertisement plate for American Beauty corsets. Here is in an example from a newspaper in 1905.

Bramble has nailed it. I too reversed the pic and can see the words American Beauty, plus the last part is '26, so I'm assuming it's the date of 1926. Nice work Bramble! Breezie

Great teamwork. What about "Style 26"? And the next line from Bramblefind may be "Kalamazoo Corset Co. Sole Makers".

Agreed on the "Style 26". Kalamazoo Corset Co. changed their name in 1922, so we know it pre-dates that.

    Re: Printing Plate ???

I usually take some steel wool and lightly clean with it.
Those plates are surprisingly durable, and the before/after can be impressive.
Try it on the back side first, if you are nervous about damaging it.
Then send us a new post.
    Excellent find!

    Re: Printing Plate ???

Where did you find that? That is one of the coolest things I have seen. I am such a noob I would have inked it and seen what happened

Maybe some easy clean finger paint type stuff, just not red, it is never easy clean...or purple.... Lightly brush it and lay it down on some paper.
