I found this button today at a known late 1700s Shipwreck site on the beach was wondering if this might be from the wreck ? I also cant make out the letters on the front of the button.Would love to know if it is 1700s and maybe what the crown and leaves mean. Thank you for your time .
Nice button you have there, for some reason the Brittish had to use scrolling on alot ot their stuff. I would check on some of the early button sites to see if you can find something like yours. Good look.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.
I cant even begin to think what those entangled letters are or even how many. Its as bad as this one. The first letter may be a T or G.

I just skimmed through a site with 392 entangled (mostly career uniform) letter buttons but I see nothing that matches.

Im pretty sure they are whats called "entangled letters" monogram initials or logo but I dont know what letters they could be.

Im surprised there are no comments on this unusual button. I suppose everyone is out for the Martin Luther King parades.
Well anyway I decided to take a stab at it. The middle initial is a tough one. GLL?

More like "Totally Lost Count" of all the button pics I've looked at . The crown is wrong for anything British military or official imo. I'm guessing at it being a late 19th century blazer button , I'm going to duck down and hide under my desk while the button experts throw books at me.
The possibility exists that it a modern button. In the first pic (about 2 oclock) it almost looks like plating is coming off.

Is the button unusually light weight for the size? The style and construction details remind me of metal plated plastic (like in automotive trim pieces). Most likely late 20th century era.
