    No idea-help!

    Found where mostly 19th century stuff has come out. Appears brass and is approx 2.5 inches long. Looks like a spout and has a pivot point at smaller portion. Inside the bell shaped opening is a routed out groove and the hinge and top bead are offset to that.
    Just curious to see if anyone can identify.

    Matt-my first thought was a spout of some type as well and it very well may be. What is weird though, is the groove inside the top is 90 degrees off of the hinge-you would have to pour sideways.

    This part is just for whistling, not for pouring. It is hinged on the top so it can be lifted out of the way when pouring. The little notch next to the hole is what makes it whistle.

    Here is a pic of a two tone whistle. Yours is a single tone.
