    Unknown Gold Detector?? Help

My Friend and I are trying to figure out what is this detector. The glass piece has gold Leaf floating in it. Very curious if anyone has any information on this type of detector? Was handed down by his GrandFather. Thanks

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

What book? You must be referring to a dowsing book. The book pictured actually seems like a pretty good book about minerals and ores. Here it is in full text. http://www.archive.org/stream/underg...orich_djvu.txt
