    The top item looks like part of a snaffle bit to me , horse tack , related .

    Not a snaffle, but part of a curb bit, a broken off shank. Could possibly be military, but there are lots and lots of bits in lots and lots of styles, so I'm not going to say for sure.

    I googled it on an image search and it certainly does look like a "Snaffle Bit" and a "Curb Bit" 2 more termsI learned on Tnet!
