Re: padlock * brass body /steel shank "waterbury"on sides -solid brass pin tumblers

a normal everyday sized brass bodied padlock with the word "waterbury" on one side in capitol letters - on the other side it has the same "waterbury" and under it in smaller print it says "solid brass pin tumblers" -- it has a rusted (steel ) locking shank -- its somewhat flat shaped with inward beveled edges -- does this really have to HAVE a photo of it ? -- its not that complex of a item -- i just do not know much about locks -- a lock collecter type should be able to help me . i know it was made by walsco * when they were in waterbury , ct they started making these types of locks in the civil war era / later 1800's era and they moved in 1930's -- just trying to get a rough time frame -- there are ones marked "waterbury" on one side and "us set" on the other --- but i think that those were made after they moved locations post 1930's --( they retained the "waterbury" name -- the us military was a big customer of these locks )

Ivan, you have already posted much more about it than most of us would know. What was it you wanted to know? I'm sorry, I don't know much about locks either, but I would sure like to see a picture of it for my own edification if nothing else. Monty
