uniform artifact from battle of bloody brook king philip's war :
while detecting ,with minlab e-track,near old deerfield massachusetts.
I dug this up at around 7-8 inches, what I believe is to be a piece of the uniforms to the flower of essex regiment ,who were ambushed in1675by the warriors of prince philip while crossing muddy brook then after named bloody brook .can anybody confirm that this is a piece of a uniform from colonial days... Thanks,G.

It is a leather rivet of some sort.

Re: uniform artifact from battle of bloody brook king philip's war :
It is most certainly a leather rivet, also called a "pack stud." 19th c. item in use up through the early 20th c. Some were decorated with starts or flower designs on their heads, as it appears that yours was. It was in no way related to the ambush you mentioned.

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

Oh wow, something found right in Deerfield. We learned all about the Battle of Bloody Brook in seventh grade, seeing as you can see where it happened from the school. And I agree, it is a rivet.
