    Button curiosity ??

    Just curious about the possible era of this button ,thanks !!

    Hey DigginG, It looks like you've found yourself a 'flat button,' also known as a coin button. They were popular during the CW, and some were worn by our Southern boys on their uniforms since the South was so poor. Are there any markings on the back? Neat find Breezie

    Breezie thanks ,it is possible I see some very faint marking on the back but it is almost impossible to make out
    I thought this could be a flat button from the CW period but wanted conformation here first .
    I found it in the middle of a huge farm field along with a few other relics and a musket ball ,I am going back for sure !!
