Found this is wall... Medal? Please help...
While doing some remodeling on my 1880's home I came across this while removing a wall in the dining room. I have not the slightest idea what it is, so I was hoping someone on here with more experience could help me!
It is made of a very soft metal; I can easily bend it. It seems softer than brass, and the top coat in the gold color may have been added, as I can see some grey color underneath on the back. It is about two inches by an inch and a half, and it has a loop on the top. Perhaps it was a piece of cheap jewelery?
Any input is greatly appreciated on this one! :-) Thanks in advance.

I'm of no help here, but that is a very cool piece! I love finding old things behind old walls.
A gentleman farmer named Floyd
With some of his kin was annoyed
The boys in their youth
Did not know the truth
And one of his tools was destroyed

Imperial State crown, hmm.. yeah, there is some resemblance! Still though, that's not quite it, I don't think!!! Thanks for the suggestion, though...

Thank you for fixing that picture for me! I am not very good at taking pics... :-) I does look fraternity-ish with the crossed arms... It is definitely old, and it seems to be made of lead, as it is very bendable with little force... I hope someone on here could tell me more about it! Or, for that matter, what to do with it... lol

There is a mix of two periods of British 'style' Crown which tell me its a 'fantasy piece' in terms of it being either official military or Royally connected. Someone made it as an unofficial souvenir or as stated above, some fraternity piece.

Fraternity pieces are usually marked but it may be part of something else.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

It has two crossed halberds style pieces which are known as Beefeaters & used by our Guards to the Tower of London. I think it was just a made up jewelry piece for the London based tourist trade.

Crusader,
Thanks for your input! That does make sense that this was something "made up" and for the tourist trade, as the people who built this house were travelling widely around the turn of the century. I have many of their travel documents and things, and I am going to check to see if they were anywhere around GB! Thank you for your expertise, again. I think this one is solved!
