    Does anyone know what this thing is??

    My buddy brought this thing over and thought I might know what it is, unfortunately I have no idea. He found it in a pile of stuff that was getting thrown out down in Philly somewhere, it almost looks like it sat on Ben Franklins desk!! It weighs about 40 pounds or so, pretty large item. Thanks for all the help!!!
