A religious pedant?
I found this while dumping my coins in the coin counting. I assume it is a religious figure but I have no idea. It weighs 25.6g and slightly smaller than an Ike coin. Is it made of silver?
Thanks,

A medal commemorating the 500th anniversary of the birth of Francis Xavier. Ad maiorem Dei gloriam or ad majorem Dei gloriam, also rendered as the abbreviation AMDG, is the Latin motto of the Society of Jesus, a religious order within the auspices of the Catholic Church. The motto is translated into English as "For the greater glory of God". (per Wiki)

IMO, if it isn't marked STERLING or have a mark for platinum (or gold), I assume it is of a lesser metalic value.
Are there words around the legend on the 'heads' side?
