Unknown thing
Found this Sat. May 12th in Cartersville Ga. I know it's not worth anything but have been trying to find out what it is.
Maybe copper or brass. It does have some green corrosion. (Sorry about the out of focus on the one pic of the end that I sanded clean)
Reads a 75 on my AT Gold.
None magnetic and weighs about as much as six quarters.

I think what you have is the end off of a brass stirrup. If you look at your last picture and turn it upside down, then you will see where the strap went through the slot. Your foot would have been on the other end. In other words, you have the top of a stirrup.

Agreed top of a stirrup.... At first glance I though part of a spur until I looked at the tape measure.....

Looks a little small and squared off on the one end to be a hoof pick, if that's what you mean.
