Just for fun - jewelled knob
Ok guys this is obviously nothing valuable, historic, and maybe not even that interesting - but it might be fun. I have no clue what it is. Found about 4" down near an old house.
"T" shaped handle type object, plastic red "jewels" on either side, a square-headed set screw, and remnants of metal bar on inside, held in by set screw and corrosion. Penny and ink pen added for scale.
K-D28 stamped on it. Any ideas?

I'm guessing it is some sort of reflector.

Bicycle handle bars reflector? 1950's?

Could be any of the suggestions so far. My best guess to date is some adornment off of a cheap kiddie carnival ride, or one of those rides you used to see where you put a quarter in and it rocks back and forth.
It seems to have been through a couple of paint jobs, one red and one black.
It's surely junk by any definition, but I thought the K-D28 stamped into it was interesting. Googling was very unproductive

I think the 28 is the date of 1928, and what you found is some type of reflector from the K-D Lamp Company.

Thanks! The K-D on some of those light/reflector boxes has me convinced. I think it is some device/ornament from the K-D lamp company. I'll mark this solved. Thanks Breezie!
