Short Iron bar with Ridges found on CW battlefield

This one is iron item from Civil War Battlefield. Two inches long, slight curve with one flat back and higher ridges on ends of curved top. CW gun part / equipment or farm piece? Reminds me of a wheel weight (sort of). Not sure if the "U" on left and "S" in center of last photo on right are real or just corrosion coincidence.

For some reason, I think that if you put that in Apple Cider Vineger for 3-4 day's you'll see an "A" on the right hand side, Just not sure on what it is....HH
It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.
