Caucasus or Caucasian was first thing that came to mind. Within that region & style possibly Kazak.
Identifying rugs can be tough. As to the above I defer to the experts.

thanks montauk, the history we got was...the elderly womens dad...worked for the state department. and brought these back for exchange of work...yeppppppers it is hard to indentifying rugs lol....i learning that

The rugs in the top pics look to have the fringe 'attached,' instead of the actual rug being the fringe like the bottom pic, which leads me to think the bottom rug is the oldest. Neat buy, Breezie

The rugs quality seems to be rich and beautiful. The colors too look wonderful!! These rugs somewhat resemble to natural fiber rugs.
