Need Help on Two Odd Brass Items
Howdy All. We found these 2 brass pieces at a 1880's farmhouse a couple of months ago. The original house and out buildings are long gone but it was occupied from 1880 to about 1940. We have found many cool identifiable relics there but these two are a real mystery.
The round piece is solid and heavy with the numbers "4841" engraved on it. I am thinking it may have something to do with a land surveying instrument because the oldtimer who originally homesteaded the site was a surveyor and we have found other surveying pieces there.
I am totally stumped on the other piece...obviously some sort of handle but to what?
Thanks for any info and HHTA. C9

Hello CRUSADER. Thanks for the reply. Interesting idea. I had not considered anything pivoting on the arm piece. I was thinking that maybe it was a handle to a toy like a kid's wagon but I have not been able to find anything on the internet like it. HH C9
