Navy button?
Found this at an old home site. It was pretty heavy for its size. Any information would be appreciated!

Kuger is correct, as usual. Additional info: Although the US Marines Corps has been using that same emblem on its buttons since 1821, your Marine Corps button's unusually large size (28.5mm) means it is from sometime in the 20th-century. If you can read anything of the maker's mark on its back, tell us everything you can see there, we might be able to narrow down the date-range.
