    Found Under City Triangle Renovation

I found this little what is it buried about 4" deep in loose soil that had been removed from the old City triangle. It's diameter is just a little larger than a nickel and it is about 1/2" thick with a threaded bolt protruding in one end. It appears to be solid brass and is quite heavy. I thought it might be some kind of counter weight for a scale or something similar for a machine, but?? Monty

Bell dinger for clock. I used to help my dad repair old clocks, and the arm was usually soft iron, the "dinger " was brass or bronze because it had more mass ?....I guess...my two wheat's worth.
