    Toy or replica Cannon

I was out metal detecting at my parents house, and found an old toy cannon i had that i thought i threw out. Im trying to figure out more on it, but i found a brass replica on ebay listed that has the same markings as this one, just not as clear. I dont believe this one is brass, but its some sort of non-ferrous metal. I also believe this might be a replica. I really am not sure what other resources to use in identification. I have attached pics and a link to the one i found on ebay.

It's pretty cool. Those were made as desk top toys or as a sort of knick knack I guess. It would originally have had a wooden carriage on it as well and since yours looks to be some kind of pot metal I'd guess it was painted to look like bronze originally. I couldn't find a sure date of manufacture on them, but the consensus seems to be 1950s or 60s.

Yes it did have a wood carriage for it, it was all thrown out. It was just neat to stumble into it again. I was wondering what ever happened to it a few weeks ago strangely. Do you happen to have one or pictures of other ones?

    Thanks

I don't have one, but if you google "1651 cannon" a few pics turn up.
