    Pocket watch ID

267159 is the number on the inside. Appears gold plate or painted. Found only this cover. Not sure if front or back. Can't make out the inscription either. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Locle is town in Switzerland that had and has several famous watch makers, and some not as famous. I'll do a quick google image search to see if I can turn up which one it looks to be.

Well, from what I've read the name on the back may be just the retailer, rather than the manufacturer. Its possible that theres a hallmark on it under the debris that would identify the maker (possibly on the inside, not the side with the writing we can see). Also a note on these: it's a good sign that it appears to have a serial number, indicating some sense of pride in the workmanship, and also a lot of these were gold plated if not solid gold... It's beyond me if either might be the case, as I can't recall the last old gold I dug up... I think never?

Pretty sure the second word of the inscription is JACOT.

The first name in the inscription may be Bernard.

Jacot, Gustave of Le Locle. This maker was born in 1864 and died in 1939. He was
probably working prior to 1881 when he would have signed his watches in his own
name. In 1881 he, with his brother, Bernard Jacot (1861-1898), set up La
Terrasse, Maison, Le Locle. After Gustave died, Bernard took over running the
company. In 1911, the company used the trademark Primax on their watches, parts
and packaging. From about 1920 the company traded as Terrasse Watch Co. In 1939,
after Bernards death, his wife Allice took over the company. She died in 1953.
The company was still trading in 1986.
