    A buckle thingy..?

It's not the find of the century, but interesting enough to wonder what??

It's non magnetic, but heavy for its size. It's thick and can't be twisted with your bare hands. The back is recessed, but not hollow. There are attachment points on both sides, no hooks, printing or impressions.

Obviously, its a buckle thingy. My first thought was off the top of a shoe. But, its lack of decoration and inflexability makes me wonder. I don't know horses, could it be a decorative pc off a horse bridal, that held leather on two sides?

Those are buckle covers. They keep the horse's tail and mane from getting caught. It's kind of hard to date them since they go back quite a ways but they are still in use today.

As I was typing, the 'horse' thing hit me. Thank you!!! I would agree, its undateable, but considering where I found it....its old....100 yrs or more. Forget the silver, this is my best find yet.
