"FORD" piece
I found this yesterday at the farm property. It has "FORD" stamped into it, and is about 3" tall. Any idea what it is?
Thanks,
MM

Looks like part of an old Ford Model T ignition coil.

Silverswede.
Since I did not want to insult PBK, I did not mention that he bought one right off the assembly line when he was 30.

Thanks, guys! Age does have its perks, I suppose.
Now if only I could figure out (and remember!) what they are...
By the way, many years ago I received a full jolt from one of those coils while adjusting the spark gap on another kid's science project. There are those who believe that explains much about me even today.:P

Dang if it isn't. I found a model-T key fob made by the manufacturers of Model-T ignitions. These would compliment each other. Also, the old Model-T ignitioin systems were great for pond fishing! Or so my Dad says. Monty

My grandfather had one of those old hand crank generators that were used with telephones in the 30s and 40s. He wired two steel probes to the wires on it. When he wanted to go fishing, he would take that thing out in his back yard, stick the probes in the ground, and give it a couple of cranks. The fishing worms and night crawlers would jump out of the ground!
