Is this an old mining tool of some sort?

    Members,

I was wondering if you could help me identify this item I found in an old mining ghost town in Arizona. It looks like it has been broken off, and I don't believe that it's the full tool, or whatever it is. Anything would help, thanks!Click image for larger version.

Looks like it's broken off of a wood burning stove.

I'd agree with that, and am imagining it might have been from the side of the bottom skirt (base), with the contour on the one side to accomodate one of the front legs (being sometimes fancier than the rear)

If you found it in a ghost mining town, it may part of one of these.

    I agree.
Due to the high price of ammunition there will be no warning shot.
