Antique George Washington and Martha Washington Chess Pieces?

I found these old ceramic George Washington and Martha Washington chess pieces (or other type of pieces?) at an old Estate sale. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about them or how old they were. They measure 3 inches in height.

These were, I believe, made by Sebastian, a company who made figurines starting in 1938. I see several listed as being made into the 1950's. A model number for the Martha is SML-004.

There are no ancient secrets to decoding the past, there is only great research and applied logic.
