Intricately Carved 19th (?) Century Wainscot Throne

Folks, I'm looking for more information on this chair. All of the construction seems to be mahogany, mortar and tenon, handmade fancy tacks, all hand carved (both wood and leather). I'm particularly interested the fact one lion has teeth and the other doesn't. It leads me to believe possibly English from British Honduras (source of great stocks of mahogany) due to the lions and the Roman soldiers. Someone suggested possibly a naval captain's chair. Any ideas?Click image for larger version.

May seem like a odd question... Can you get a close up any nails? If there are any...

The front legs are seraphim are they not? The toothed lion can symbolize youth, while the toothless lion symbolizes old age. Just a thought.

It appears you have a nice Victorian Throne chair circa 1880's. They are also known as 'Gothic' chairs. They were often used by Masonic or other Fraternal organizations. These chairs had highly carved animals and characters. Yours is a excellent example.
