I think we'll find the answer here -- http://www.benojgundlachco.com/index.shtml
This company, Beno J. Gundlach Co., is located in Belleville, IL. The tag on this would seem to certainly match up with this info.

Re: spikey thing
I use Photoshop, but I've heard others here explain that it can be done in Microsoft Paint, but I'd have to let someone else give a good answer how to do so.

No. 737 Stretcher Hook for the KT-150 Deluxe Carpet Stretcher.
You just never know what you'll find. Somewhere, some carpet installer is saying to himself "Now where is my dad gummed stretcher hook?"
Great job Nbbnz . . . for a caveman.
America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.

Re: spikey thing
Defo not a horse hoof pick. I've cleaned my share of muddy/poo trodden horse feet to realize that thing would neither fit well in your hand or provide the right kind of leverage to get the muck out.
Carpet stretcher? why not.

Where is my dad gummed power stretcher tailhook?
(Yes I am!) Unfortunately 99 percent of the subfloors in S.Florida are made of concrete so I don't have much use for one of these. When the 1% occasion arises we use a whats called a "deadman" that rests against the tailblock of the power stretcher.I just found this or I could've told you a week ago what it was.
Nice id nhbenz and charlie p and jeff g..
