Found a "weird" coin...

It's not weird in and of itself, I got it in central Wi. in an old vacant lot, it wasn't very deep, but it looks like it's been in the dirt for a while, just wondering if anyone has any idea of age, or some type of U.S. origin for a coin like this (i.e., how did it get here ??) all info appreciated, even if you don't know what you're talking about.

Chinese cash coin. Probably brought over by someone from China . These are usually very old but not very valuable as there were millions minted.

Hi,

This coin is indeed Chinese. Its dated 1796. Value is about $3. With a better scan of the "scribbles" on the back (not the 4 character side) I can determine the province too.
