Found a "weird" coin...
It's not weird in and of itself, I got it in central Wi. in an old vacant lot, it wasn't very deep, but it looks like it's been in the dirt for a while, just wondering if anyone has any idea of age, or some type of U.S. origin for a coin like this (i.e., how did it get here ??) all info appreciated, even if you don't know what you're talking about.
I noticed that no-one really utilizes all the signature space provided, so I figured to be REALLY original I would make up the longest signature that I could and probably just leave it as one big run on sentence because all that punctuation just takes up way too much space-HH.

Re: Found a "weird" coin...
Chinese cash coin. Probably brought over by someone from China
. These are usually very old but not very valuable as there were millions minted.
If the elevator tries to bring you down, go crazy, punch a higher floor!

Re: Found a "weird" coin...
Chinese cash coin. The kind you see decorating the hanging ornaments in Chinese restaurants.
America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.

gold fish,
I'm at work and don't have time to do the research, but this site will teach you and offers some great visuals. You should be able (with enough clicking and searching) to ID your coin, and learn all about it.

Re: Found a "weird" coin...
Hi,
This coin is indeed Chinese. Its dated 1796. Value is about $3. With a better scan of the "scribbles" on the back (not the 4 character side) I can determine the province too.
Good hunting!
