 "Is that a Geiger Counter?"
Re: What are these things??
I'm tellin 'ya. It's the "free prize in every box" version of serving tongs.

Wouldn't expect ladies to glom in a gob 'o bonbons with their bare mits, would 'ya?

America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.

Maybe you are right. These could be the cheap/disposable version of those tongs. They sure do look like them but not as thick.

I'd guess it was on the ribbon that tied the box closed.

Re: What are these things??
Sugar tongs ! Charlies got it right! I found one that is still bent in the proper shape. It is from a hotel in Boston. They are an advertising tool,an odlen-days give away. They are rather thin, but they work for the intended use. They are victorian and dainty, not for turning steaks or tweezing ingrowns, ifun ya know what I mean.
Nice collection!
