    What could this be?

I found this at a old home site that dates back to early 1900s. Site does produce some modern junk. I thought this could be some kind of stamp at first but I'm not sure. It's about the size of a Penny. The design is embossed and the back has female threads. Thanks for your help.

With the female threads, possibly the top of a perfume bottle, or any other small bottle? Looks pretty old.

yep, Colgate lid, circa 1920. more likely from a can. at that time, they didn't have pastes or creams though. I think most of the stuff was in a powder form that you had to mix water with. i.e.- tooth powder, shaving powder, etc.

Information on the internet says Colgate sold in a tube as early as 1896.
