Looks like a "melt". Probably mainly silicon, the same as in quartz. These are made for decorative purposes. it's very nice.

The way it has the rounded fracture on the bottom makes me think glass.

At first I was wanting to say it's some sort of Jasper. If it is, it's one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen!

(DISCLAIMER - I am in no way an authority on rocks.....UNLESS we are talking about "rocks for brains"!!)

Looks like a pour to me too, you would be surprised what they mix and pour.
-I rather work a small crevice than dredge a big bottom-

slag glass - see the conchoidal fracture at the bottom by the shine from the light? Obsidian doesn't come in this color, and jasper doesn't look this glass-like. It can still be cabbed, or used in a fish tank or on a window sill - still a beautiful find! Keep lookin' down!

why do you think its a rock?
based on you pic, looks like glass or pottery,
the lines almost look like brush marks
the lines don't look right for a rock
    Just an opinion
need to see more pics of the other sides to make a good ID
