ok I'll post this over here too Spike with hole?

Does anyone have any ideas about this one ?

What would the hole be used for ? I was thinking maybe to pry with once it's embedded in something but I surely have no Idea....

    Any idea on the age?

Can you supply any info about where it was found, structures in the area, etc.
    That'd help with ID.

looks like it may have had a wooden handle in the hole that has rotted away. From that side view it looks like a straight pick-ax of some sort. was it near a mine or something?

Might have been a locking pin for some kind of hitch or connection and had a rope or chain in the hole to keep from losing it.

    Pick hammer?
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.
