    ID on Buttons Please

These are a few buttons that I have picked up over the years. I did not dig them. Can ya'll help tell me the ID or age? First two are 5/8 inch, next is 3/4 inch and West Virginia is 1 inch.

The 2nd and 3rd are livery buttons. The eagle and child is for the Stanley family / Earls of Derby and associated with the Isle of Man. As on this this coin-

The other may be for the Laurie family ...?

I believe our awesome relic-ID-detective Lady Bramblefind has already correctly identified your #2 and #3 buttons. Button #1 looks like the Chicago Bears (football) logo to me. Button #4 is the most-modern (20th-Century) version of West Virginia State Seal button, shown in the Albert button-book as button WV-3B, worn on WV State Police and other State Official's uniforms.

On a closer look the critter on that first one is actually a beaver. I don't know if maybe the C is for Canada? Here's a pin that clarifies the animals details: Click image for larger version.

Thanks to All! The one with the beaver is still a mystery.

Well, that sure is the Chicago Bears logo letter C. I wonder if there is a women's ice-hockey (or other sport) team named the Chicago Beavers? :-)

This Worthpoint entry shows the letter C and the beaver pins to be from Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana -
