Man Made or Natural...What say you?

I took a break from detecting and went to the river to pan a little. I didn't find any gold but I did spot this rock along the edge of the water. It was settled in with rounded river rocks and quartz. There is bedrock lifting up also. But this looked different from anything else in the area. LOCATION INFO: Near Lowrys, Anson County, N.C. along the S.C. Line. So my question is this, is it a natural occurrence or possibly a Native American tool? I don't have any information on the Indian population in that area but I am sure there was most likely some.
UPDATE: Further research shows the Catawba and Cheraw Tribes lived in the area in considerable numbers. Give me your opinions.

Any idea what it was used for? Maybe smoothing skins?

I'm wondering if it is a small chipping or grinding tool that would have had the flat side tied to a handle, similar to an adze.Click image for larger version.

I would guess man made. but I have seen rocks on here that resemble almost every shape and thing you can imagine its very difficult to know for sure. I hope it is an Indian relic that would be great!!!!!!!@

That is definately my plan when it warms up. I walked in the water to get this and waded around for 30 minutes and my feet got really cold, LOL. It should warm up enough in a couple of months to go back and scour the area! Thanks

Doubt I can find it now, but watched a video just last night of a place where the mountain rock fractured into perfect hexagons that were 20+ feet in length! So is that possible in nature? YES!! However, I'm guessing man-made.

Actually no, wasn't in the USA. Finally found the video though:

I don't normally watch such videos, but like the ones that show amazing natural places. This had some neat places! However, in trying to find this video, I see that there's a LOT more that I still want to watch!

Forgot to mention, the place I remembered watching was at the 7:05 mark.
