    Are these colonial?

    found these a few years back, was wondering about their age? Talking about badges not the coin it was found in different area. What were the badges[?] used for?

    I think the heart shaped one is a buckle if the centre bar is off-set then it's horse relate , the shield is leather furniture (decorative) and both could date to that period.

    The one on the right is a horse saddle decoration, which was clamped to the leather of the saddle; most likely 1700s. Not sure about the heart-shaped piece.
