Found at a 1700's Cellar Hole. Looks Like a Huge Cotter Pin, but It's Threaded.

This is the second one of these I've found at this 1700's cellar hole, so I need to know what it is! It's iron and about six inches long. Looks to be hand forged. Kind of looks like a huge cotter pin, but it's threaded on the end. No idea what it would have been used for back then. Any guesses on this one?

It is the handle for a scythe. The round went around the main shaft, the threaded part fit inside a wood handle with a nut on the end to tighten it to the shaft.

Thanks for the ID! Never would have guessed that one.
