    Found this morning in Connecticut. i think civil war era

    I don’t think it’s civil war era. What’s the back look like?
    I agree, collar disk, and from what I can tell it looks like WWII era at oldest.

    It looks to be a field artillery brass collar disk from the U.S. Army. I'm not sure of the date, but am thinking WWII. Below is a page with some info on collar disks.
