    Button help

I was able to get out and detect the woods today. Not familiar with old buttons, wondering if anyone has stumbled upon something similar. The figure on it seems to be holding something in each hand.Click image for larger version.

Trying out posting in the morning, when I've got more energy than at night.

Your button shows a drummer-boy, marching while holding a drumstick in each hand, with the drum held at his waist by over-the-shoulder straps. Notice that the button itself has the shape of a drum, tilted slightly so you can see some of the drum's side.

You'll probably next ask for its age. Stamped-sheetbrass "picture" and "floral" buttons like yours were most popular in the very-late 1800s into the very-early 1900s. Thus, some people call them "Victorian" era picture & floral buttons.

It is best as one grows older to strip oneself of possessions, to shed oneself downward like a tree, to be almost wholly earth before one dies.
