    Strange cast brass object

I found this piece at a mid 19th to early 20th century house site. It's cast brass and somewhat crude. Thad (pa-dirt_nc-sand) also found one. Not sure if they are separate pieces or were connected at one time. The short posts are rounded and as cast. The long post looks like it was cut cleanly at a slight angle.

I think it might be a part from a bicycle pedal. Nice find.

Somebody said that in the Facebook ID Me forum. But I can't see how, if this was a pedal, it would connect to the pedal shaft.

I think hawk is correct, a “broken” piece of a bicycle pedal. My first thought was a drawer pull or something to do with furniture because it looks brass to me.

I doubt that would be a bicycle pedal. Brass that size would bend or break too easily.

Great suggestion Hawks, but I'm not seeing antique bicycle pedal.
Here's a pair of 1885 bicycle pedals from a Columbia bicycle, notice how thick they are to withstand pumping the pedals.
