    Normally the buckshot I find is much smaller than 50 cal though.

    Could be anywhere from 1700, all the way until the mid 1800's. They used them for a long time, and I'm not sure if there is a way to narrow down a more specific age. Great find! I would bet that it is at least 150 years old, and likely older depending on where it was found!
