INFO AND AGE NEEDED ON OLD FORK

I found an old fork that was bent pretty bad . I straightened it best I could . It bends pretty easy . It appears to be made of copper or brass but there is a marking on it that looks like it reads " crown silver co " . Why would it be marked like this if it is not silver and any idea of it's age ? Thanks .

Re: INFO AND AGE NEEDED ON OLD FORK

When they have been in the ground for a while the copper on the spoon reacts with the silver and it leeches off. I dont know if that right but thats what I have been told...d2
