    I found this in my backyard. It is a 1958 last year no mint mark wheat penny, but the rim on the obverse is insanely large We found things like dryer coins and spoon coins that look like this, except those had this large rim on both sides, while mine is only on the obverse. I would really like to know if this could possibly be a mint error or if it is some weird post-mint damge.

    Maybe a trick coin. It looks like it has a seam one the edge

    That's what we thought. but it is completely round with nowhere to attach it to anything

    Could you see what's going on at this spot.
    It almost looks like a broken rim snapped around the penny, that, when flipped would have Lincoln hanging upright.

    Looks like a bezel around the coin. Probably used to have a loop for suspension that broke off.
