    another whatzit from the woods

    This I found very close to an old horseshoe in the woods in an old homestead area. the 2 smaller holes are threaded and I've had it in an electrolysis bucket for a few days. any ideas you wonderful treasurenetters??Click image for larger version.

    Looks kinda like an old bumper guard. Here are a couple with the same rear profile, although the front isn't quite a match .. Gives an idea at any rate..

    It is pretty heavy so i'd be more inclined to say the car bumper thing than the kids bike( although that was my first thought when i yanked it out of the ground). I was also thinking some piece of farm equipment as the old photos of the area at penn.pilot.psu.edu show plowed fields all around an old house that is no longer there
